Induction and Support

Induction

Newly elected States' Members are offered initial support to help navigate the Rules of Procedure applicable to the first few days of office, such as those relating to elections to Committee positions.

This is followed by the opportunity to take part in a more extensive induction programme which is currently under review, and this page will be updated as the components of the programme are agreed.

Support

Committee Chairs will generally find that support is available for diary management and other basic secretarial services, but most other Members are expected to be self-sufficient in this regard.

Members of Committees are supported by their respective officers in relation to their Committee work.

A shared Meeting room at the Island Hall, commonly known as The Members' Room, can be booked by Members for meetings with colleagues or constituents. The Members' Room also contains a desk with dual monitors, and a keyboard and mouse, to which Members are able to connect their laptops.

There is also an extensive reference library that contains Laws, Billets and publications, which are available to browse.
